Summary of my paper.

My paper was a social media plan for my personal brand. My personal brand deals with reviewing the music and entertainment industry, going to concerts and reviewing the shows, watching new TV shows and reviewing them, and personal video blogs in which topics range from talking about new artists in the music industry to trying to convince people to go and experience new things that involve the music and entertainment industry. The social media techniques that I used were Twitter, Facebook, Last.fm, Flickr, Tumblr, YouTube, and my WordPress blog which is called “The Check It Out Blog.” With YouTube, Tumblr, and Flickr I would use those social media techniques as a visual aspect to my personal brand by posting pictures and the video blogs. By using Twitter and Facebook, it allows me to send out small messages to my audience and links instead of a long blog post. Using those social media techniques allows the audience to also get a small preview of the blog post and leads them to the actual blog. Last.fm is a social media technique that allows the audience to see what music I am listening to and they can see my recommended tracks and my playlists. It will hopefully help the audience be more opened minded about different types of music. The Check It Out Blog will pull together all of the aspects that the other social media techniques bring. It has all of the blog posts, video blogs, concert slideshows and photographs, and also allows the audience to leave their input by commenting the blog. With all these social media techniques, it allows the audience to be connected to my personal brand and hopefully encourages them to check out things within the music and entertainment industry that they haven’t before.

From speculation this might be their last tour that they will do for a while, so I know I will most likely attend one of their shows. The Future of Social Media.

Where is social media going and what does the future look like for social media? I think believe that social media has a bright future and is not gonna go anywhere for awhile. Social media websites, such as Facebook and Twitter, keep growing each day with more people joining and communicating with other people. The reason social media is so successful, in my opinion, is that it allows people to communicate and keep in touch with other people that may live far away or went to high school or college with. Social media will be around for a long time because it not only can be used for personal reasons but businesses are starting to use social media as well. It helps businesses and future employees network with each other through social media websites.

Online Business Models.

The future of online businesses is that these days if a business does not have an internet presence it will most likely not be successful. Amazon.com and Ebay.com are successful because people can go buy things that are probably not sold in all stores and can be bought online. Also with Ebay.com you can also sell your own items as well as buy or bid on items. By having an online business it makes you reach a more broader audience and if your business sells products, by having an online presence it is makes easier to sell your products around the world. The only challenge with this is that if a person wants to perhaps buy clothes online they don’t have the opportunity to try on the clothes or if they are buying shoes they can’t really try them on because of course they are shopping online. Here is an interesting article about some of the successful online businesses and here is an interesting article about Amazon.com’s architecture.
